What will YOU find on your treasure hunt?

Vintage sewing brings to mind gorgeous Victorian clothing, ladies in dresses,  men in impeccably tailored suits, and Grandma's hand sewn quilts that are passed down for generations.  But what about the tools that these talented seamstresses and tailors used? The iconic black Singer sewing machine that weighed a ton and stored away in its own sewing table, scissors that looked liked swans or peacocks that were every bit as pretty as the fabric and threads that they cut. To read or not to read... To grade and vault in a hard plastic case?  To store in a mylar plastic bag for the enjoyment of handling and looking at the comic book? The thought of folding a comic book and shoving it in your back pocket can send some into an anxiety attack. But Hey!  That's how those now valuable comics were treated back in the day... Chances are though, that once you are hooked on a comic genre, you are hooked for life.  Many hours of enjoyment and agony can be spent finding and caring for your collection and finding those missing books. We have been collectors of comics for many years, but it is time to let some go.  We have some low number Amazing Spider-Man listed right now.  And we even had a key issue 129 with the first appearance of Punisher... After the holidays, there are two schools of thought... Relax and recharge?  OR  Kick it in gear and get things done.  Either way, books can be a great source of pleasure and information.   Whether you want to sit curled up on a couch or on a beach, a good book is a great friend.  Don't want to relax? Most of the time, when you think of paperweights, you conjure up an image of a little clear glass ball with colorful items or designs inside.  Mostly, this would be accurate.  All cultures have a "look" to their paperweights, Italy, France, America, United Kingdom, and many more.  We are pleased to have a collection of "non-glass" paperweights that were produced during the 70's in Campbell, California.  Daisyglas is not glass, they are made of resin and they are not necessarily round.  Founder, William Larkin, developed a process that made them look like glass. He was also very imaginative in his shapes, creating craggy caves with gold plated divers and mountain ranges with deer and trees.  He also realized that small pretty sparkly trinkets made great presents.  A lot of his designs included flowers and candies. Perfect for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or birthdays.  These paperweights have held up over time and we are lucky to have some of them available.
